Short Report

From the 15th to the 18th of July, reintegration experts from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland met in Oostmalle near Antwerp in Belgium to discuss about the reintegration policies and activities in their countries and to exchange ideas and experiences. Like during our first workshop in Germany, networking activities played a major role in this meeting. But unlike in Rheine, where the discussions were mainly about country of origin information and return counselling, the participants in Malle put a strong emphasis on education and economic reintegration. A range of projects from training courses for asylum seekers to self-employment generating activities enabling subsistence to elaborated entrepreneur development programmes was presented. Besides, we visited an open reception centre in Kapellen where asylum seekers are accommodated.
